The Smith and Wesson Airlite 351 Centennial is a small frame personal defense revolver with decades of reliable performance to its credit. The 1 7/8" barrel is actually two separate parts. There is a stainless steel "barrelette" within an aluminum shroud. The original design was conceived to prevent the barrel from unscrewing itself with hot magnum loads. The double action trigger on The Smith & Wesson Airlite 351 Centennial has very little of the stacking common to coil springs in small-frame revolvers. The grip frame, wrapped in rubber stocks, yields an ample purchase during handling. Sighting the pistol is provided by a U-notch at the top rear of the frame and an installed XS sight up front, designed to stand out and be easy to find during high-stress situations.
