The chassis in the frame is precision machined aluminum alloy with full length guide rails for long term reliability and smooth operation. While not a striker fired handgun, the Ruger security-9 is still easy to rack and the secure action hammer is smooth and easy to shoot. The through-hardended steel slide is black coated for corrosion resitance and topped with high visibility machined sights, the rear is windage adjustable and the front can be swapped for different colors(sold seperately). Unlike competing designs, the Ruger security-9 can be safely taken down without special tools or necessity to pull the trigger. For those concerned with safety, the Ruger security-9 has you covered with manual thumb safety, bladed trigger safety to prevent accidental activation of the trigger, neutral balanced sear with significant engagment and strong spring tension and lastly the hammer catch which prevents the hammer from contacting the firing pin without the trigger being pulled first.
