The 1" wide polymer frame is textured for superior grip in all conditions and is perfect for concealed carry. The Steel slide is coated in melonite for corrosion resitance against the elements, and the low effort slide system reduces the effort needed to rack the slide by 27% which is great for newer shooters or those with weak hand strength. Unlike the XD series of pistols, the XDE comes with an external hammer and ambidextrous decocker/safety lever and ambi magazine release for left handed shooters. The Springfield XDE .45ACP can give newer shooters peace of mind with the traditional double/single action where you can visibly see the hamme operating and the decocker lever will safely lower the hammer from its cocked position and give the shooter the ability to put the handgun on safe.
